Description

Cruise the West Maui Coastline to a fabulous snorkel site where you swim & snorkel for over one hour with tropical fish over a colorful coral reef and maybe even see green sea turtles, spotted eagle rays and moray eels. In transit you may encounter Spinner & Bottlenose Dolphins. Quality snorkel equipment supplied, along with swim noodles and tropical snacks and juices, sodas and bottled water throughout the trip.

Snorkel site options going north include Cliff House, Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay Marine Preserve. Heading south the main destination is Olowalu Reef and then returning to Lahaina Town and possibly Mala Sunken Wharf known for its turtle town. Our experienced captain selects the best site depending on that day's sea and wind and visibility conditions.

The 50 foot "Explorer Super Raft" (the largest in Hawaii) is fast and comfortable with the "Cadillac Ride" of a stable deep V-hull craft and has plenty of padded seats and a large bimini top for lots of shade. Our custom designed vessel even has an on-board marine head/restroom, large swim step, two wide loading ladders and a fresh water rinse shower.

Kevin's Activity Tips:

Not everyone is up for a long 5+ hour snorkel trip with a channel crossing to Molokini or Lanai. For thos looking for an adventure that isn't quite as long and strenuous this 3 hour afternoon snorkel is perfect. Rafting ... even on these large, super rafts ... can be a rough and bouncy and wet roller coaster ride at times. The channels can get pretty big swells. Staying along the Maui coastline will avoid that as much as possible.

There are a host of snorkeling spots the captain has to choose from along the West Maui coast. One of them is surprisingly close to the harbor ... a location where an old wharf was destroyed in a hurricane and the rubble on the ocean bottom has attracted a LOT of sea life. There are other great spots ... Cliff House in Kapalua, Honolua Bay, Olowalu ... the captain will select the best site(s) depending on that day's conditions. Almost all of them are going to feature honu, Hawaii's giant green sea turtles. They're incredibly interesting and fun to watch while snorkeling!
