Kevin's Activity Tips:
I can't even imagine someone coming to Hawaii on vacation and not getting out on the ocean on a boat. Snorkel trips are great for most people ... but not everyone is up for swimming and snorkeling with sea turtles and ocean critters. For those folks, and even for those who do go out on a snorkel trip, an evening of sailing and watching a sunset from out on the water will really put the Hawaiian vibe into your vacation.
The views of Waikiki and Honolulu as the sunset sets are just magnificent ... the purple and pinks and oranges painting the tall glassy building of Honolulu's skyline as the lights start to glow and twinkle ... do yourself a favor and go out for a sunset sail!
Of the cruises on this page, the Spirit of Aloha II leaves from the Hilton Hawaiian Village pier in Waikiki and is best for those who are staying walking distance from that resort (which is about half of Waikiki). For those who have to drive anyway, the Honu Lani leaves from the Kewalo Basin Harbor just a little west of the Ala Moana Center, and is the best choice if you are driving and need a place to park. They also offer round-trip transportation from Waikiki hotels to Kewalo Harbor for $15 per person.
Normally these cruises offer a nice spread of appetizers, but during the current Covid period the food is individually portioned and the same level of selection isn't offered. Honestly though, these cruises are more sailing and cocktails oriented than they are dinner oriented.
