Sea Life Park is located on Oahu's windward coast, about 30 minutes from Waikiki at scenic Makapuu Point. Get up close and personal with a fantastic array of marine life and make amazing discoveries about the inhabitants of our aquatic world. You can watch the performances or wade right in with the wildlife. Ever wondered what it's like to be an animal trainer or an aquarist? Now you can find out in one of Sea Life Park's special interactive programs. Stay dry or get wet, it's up to you! 

Advanced reservations for these interactive programs are a must. The dolphin adventures are so popular that they sometimes book up weeks in advance! Price of interactive programs includes complimentary park admission for the participant. Additional members of the party who are not participating in the interactive program will pay the basic admission price of $29 for adults and $19 for children 6-12 (5 & under free).  Pregnant women are not permitted to participate in any of the interactive programs.

The luau also includes complimentary park admission which can be used earlier in the day of the luau, or any one day within a week after the luau.

Round-trip transportation from Waikiki hotels to Sea Life Park is available for $16 per adult, $10 per child 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. This may be added to any interactive package or the luau.

 

Dolphin Swim Adventure Price per participant: $149   Rate is "per participant" and includes tax and park admission. There is no child rate for this event. Minimum age is 8

The Dolphin Swim Adventure is your chance to swim with dolphins. Minimum age of participation is 8 and swimming ability is required ... this interactive program gives you hands-on experience with dolphins. Watch them swim by you underwater while you snorkel, and have your picture taken with a dolphin giving you a kiss. Other interaction includes grabbing on and getting a belly ride from a dolphin, as well as floating on a boogie board and having a dolphin push you from behind. You'll feed them, get splashed, and in general just have a great time interacting with them and learning about their anatomy.

Children ages 8-12 must have an adult participating in the interaction with them in order to do the dolphin adventure. If no adult will be participating, children 8-12 should be booked on the dolphin encounter instead (see below).

The Dolphin Royal Swim is the most extensive dolphin interaction Sea Life Park has ever offered.  In addition to the interactions done with the regular Dolphin Swim Adventure, there are some more exhilarating activities including a behavior where two dolphins push the participant's feet lifting you out of the water and giving you a thrilling ride across the pool. Minimum age of participation is 8 and swimming ability is required ... this interactive program gives you extensive hands-on experience with dolphins. 

Children ages 8-12 must have an adult participating in the interaction with them in order to do the Dolphin Royal Swim. If no adult will be participating, children 8-12 should be booked on the Dolphin Encounter instead (see below).

Learn about the intriguing world of dolphins ... from a waist deep platform guests observe the dolphins while they perform high energy behaviors. Dolphins play and kiss and dance with participants! For those who feel comfortable, the program offers the opportunity to move off the platform into slightly deeper water. The platform is now deeper than pictured in the photo above. All children under age 8 and/or less than 55" tall must have an adult participating with them during the interaction (one adult per younger child required). Shorter children will wear a life jacket and float since they won't be able to touch bottom.

Sea Life Park offers an incredible interactive program during which you will come in close contact with a family of ultra-cool sea lions. You'll learn how to give them instructions to signal particular behaviors. Watch in amazement as they balance a coconut on their nose that you've tossed to them and listen to them join you in singing your favorite song. You can swim with them too ... prop your feet up on one of their backs and grab them under the chin and by the tail and they'll spin you around like a pinwheel!  The minimum age for this interaction is 8. 

Sea Life Park's luau is available on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evenings. 

Enjoy an orchid lei greeting, opening reception at 6pm and spectacular performances by Sea Life Park's resident dolphins, sea lions, and penguins! You will then move to the meadow overlooking the ocean and beautiful Makapu'u Point for an evening of dining under the stars. The menu includes a buffet of traditional luau favorites including the kalua pork, authentic lau lau, teriyaki beef, mahi mahi, chicken long rice, and a variety of salads, vegetables, desserts, coffee, tea, and two beverage coupons (for beer, wine, mai tais, cocktails, juices, or soda).

After dinner there is a sensational Polynesian revue featuring dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, and Tonga. The grand finale is the spectacular Samoan fire knife dance. The evening concludes approximately 9pm.

The luau includes complimentary admission to Sea Life Park that can be used earlier in the day before the luau, or on any one day within a week of attending the luau. Transportation from Waikiki is FREE for those who are attending the luau.

ACTIVITY TIPS

Sea Life Park opens daily at 9:30am (10:30am from October 1st to December 15th). Their dolphin interactions are very popular and often sell out WEEKS in advance during the busiest time of year. We recommend that you arrive shortly after the park opens and take time to enjoy the shows and attractions, and then do your interactive program in the afternoon. This way you'll be dry while you walk around the park and you'll be in the water during the heat of the day. 

Schedules for the interactive programs change frequently ... select the time that comes close to when you'd like to participate. If the time segment that you've selected is full, we'll book you for the next closest interaction time. If you are doing an interaction prior to the park's opening at 9:30am, the check-in is 30 minutes prior to your interactive program. Check-in for all other interactive programs is ONE HOUR prior to the start time of the program. 

If you have a rental car, we advise you to use it and drive yourself to Sea Life Park ... drive time from Waikiki is typically about 30 minutes, but it can take longer during peak traffic periods. If you don't have a car, the park's shuttle will take you there from Waikiki for an additional fee. If you are riding their shuttle, we recommend that you schedule either a 9am interaction time, or one of the afternoon interaction times. IF YOU REQUEST an 11am interaction, you are picked up by the early shuttle around 8am but you'll arrive at the park an hour before they open. You would have been better off doing the 9am interaction! The pick-up for early afternoon interactions is the second shuttle around 10am, and the Waikiki pick-up for the late afternoon interactions is around noon. These times are approximate because the exact time varies from hotel to hotel. Your email confirmation will tell you the precise time and place of pick-up.

Coming on a cruise ship and just in Honolulu for the day? Sea Life Park doesn't pick up at the Aloha Tower Marketplace where the cruise ship docks, but all is not lost. The best course of action is to book an early afternoon interaction and we'll schedule the pick-up at the Hilton Hawaiian Village hotel.  This is a fairly short cab ride from the cruise ship (about 15 minutes), and then you can grab the Sea Life Park shuttle for the rest of the way. On the return to Waikiki at the end of the day you'd be able to spend some time walking around Waikiki and then take a cab back to the cruise ship for your evening departure.

No advanced reservations are needed for ADMISSION ONLY to Sea Life Park ... but you DO need advanced reservations for any of the programs listed on this page!!! 

Sea Life Park Reservations

Upon submitting your activity reservation for processing, one copy is sent to your e-mail address so that you have a record of your order. We will make reservations for you and send an e-mail confirming all of the details. These confirmations are often sent a few minutes after your reservation, but some activities take longer to confirm than others. You will receive an e-mail confirmation by the end of the next business day at the latest. There are no tickets that you need to pick up prior to your event. Your e-mail confirmation will have all the details you need to check in and enjoy your selected activity. This saves you precious time when you arrive in Hawaii. 

A credit card is required to guarantee payment for your reservations, but in most cases WE DO NOT charge your credit card when your order is placed. Your credit card is typically charged five days before you leave for Hawaii, and a voucher is faxed to the vendor. Some activities are charged at the time of check-in and your e-mail confirmation will inform you if this is the case. If you cancel your activity after your credit card has been charged you will receive a refund less 10% to cover our credit card processing costs.

We do have one vendor that requires payment at the time that your reservation is made. These activities are clearly marked on our website with the words, "Payment required at the time of reservation."

After making reservations, you may reschedule or cancel your activity up until 48 hours prior to its start (a few activities have 72 hour cancellation policies ... see your confirmation e-mail for details). Within 48 hours of the start of your activity all reservations are final and non-refundable (unless the event is cancelled by the vendor due to weather or other factors). Due to our incredible climate here, weather cancellations are rare.  No-shows and cancellations without adequate notice are charged in full on the credit card used to secure the reservation and are non-refundable.
