Hollywood loves Kualoa Ranch! An impressive list of movies and TV shows have been filmed in this scenic area. The majestic cliffs and spires of the Kualoa Mountains, the lush greenery of the Ka'a'awa Valley, the ancient fishponds on the south side of the property, the quintessential view of Chinaman's Hat (Mokolo'i Island) ... all these features and more have attracted production companies and will continue to do so as long as the cameras continue to roll.

Ready for a partial list? Let's start with the most recent ... on September 20th 2010 the NEW Hawaii 5-0 premier's OPENING SCENE featured a WWII military bunker that is visited on this tour. The walls of this bunker are lined with historic photos of the ranch and scenes from many of the movies that were made here. Look for many more scenes from Hawaii 5-0 to be shot here in the near future! And then there's the previous hit show LOST ... many episodes were shot here including Hurley's golf course. Fantasy Island ... Byrds of Paradise ... and who can forget Magnum PI? Let's move on to the blockbuster movies ... Jurassic Park, Tears of the Sun, Mighty Joe Young, Godzilla, Pearl Harbor, You Me and Dupree, George of the Jungle, Windtalkers, 50 First Dates (see also our Sea Life Park page).

The Kualoa Ranch Movie Site Tour is availabe as part of a full or half day package combined with other fun activities that are available on the property. All full and half day packages include a buffet lunch at the Kualoa Ranch visitor's center, and round trip transportation is available on these packages for $10 per participant. There are two types of packages available ... the Hawaiian Experience package and the Adventure package.

HAWAIIAN EXPERIENCE PACKAGES: a variety of fully narrated tours that are suitable for guests of all ages.

ADVENTURE PACKAGES: include all the tour options of the Hawaiian Experience, plus Horseback Riding and ATV Tour as additional options! Closed toed shoes like sneakers are required and long pants are recommended for horseback riding and ATV tours.

ACTIVITY TIPS

Kualoa Ranch has some of the most spectacular landscapes in Hawaii ... that's the reason so many of the Hollywood films and TV shows have shot scenes here. If you do a movie site tour at Kualoa Ranch now, years from now you will recognize scenes in future movies that at this moment are nothing more than dreams in the minds of their producers! This area has been and will continue to be a "Mecca" for the entertainment industry for years to come.

The best deal is to do one of their FULL DAY ADVENTURE PACKAGES. This basically gives you the "run of the ranch" for the day and the ability to participate in anything and everything that can be squeezed into one eventful day. The complete list of activities is found above; the most popular events are the horseback riding, ATV tour, and movie tour. With the full day adventure package you can do all three of those, along with one other event, and a nice buffet lunch is included too. Round-trip transportation from Waikiki hotels is available with this package.

The HALF DAY ADVENTURE PACKAGE includes two activities at the Ranch ... you can combine the Movie Site Tour with either horseback riding or the ATV tour. Please note that if you don't want to do either horseback riding or the ATV tour, then you should book the Hawaiian Experience instead of the Adventure pagkage since it is less expensive.

ADVENTURE packages have age and weight restrictions for some of the tours and require a signed waiver of liability from all participants. For families with younger children, you will want to sign up for one of the HAWAIIAN EXPERIENCE packages as all of these activities are suitable for participants of all ages. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult on all activities though..

While it's a good idea to have in mind the top two or three events that you'd like to do with your package, the selection of the exact tours that you will do is made upon arrival at the ranch. If you are reserved in advance for a package, adequate space is allotted for you to select the specific events you would like on the morning of your tour.

For those utilizing the ranch's transportation from Waikiki, pickup is between 7am and 8am depending on your hotel. Those driving themselves to the ranch for one of the packages should arrive no later than 8:30am. The half day packages return back to Waikiki around 2:30pm and the full day packages arrive back around 4:30pm.

Oahu Movie Site Tour Reservations

Upon submitting your activity reservation for processing, one copy is sent to your e-mail address so that you have a record of your order. We will make reservations for you and send an e-mail confirming all of the details. These confirmations are often sent a few minutes after your reservation, but some activities take longer to confirm than others. You will receive an e-mail confirmation by the end of the next business day at the latest. There are no tickets that you need to pick up prior to your event. Your e-mail confirmation will have all the details you need to check in and enjoy your selected activity. This saves you precious time when you arrive in Hawaii. 

A credit card is required to guarantee payment for your reservations, but in most cases WE DO NOT charge your credit card when your order is placed. Your credit card is typically charged five days before you leave for Hawaii, and a voucher is faxed to the vendor. Some activities are charged at the time of check-in and your e-mail confirmation will inform you if this is the case. If you cancel your activity after your credit card has been charged you will receive a refund less 10% to cover our credit card processing costs.

We do have one vendor that requires payment at the time that your reservation is made. These activities are clearly marked on our website with the words, "Payment required at the time of reservation."

After making reservations, you may reschedule or cancel your activity up until 48 hours prior to its start (a few activities have 72 hour cancellation policies ... see your confirmation e-mail for details). Within 48 hours of the start of your activity all reservations are final and non-refundable (unless the event is cancelled by the vendor due to weather or other factors). Due to our incredible climate here, weather cancellations are rare.  No-shows and cancellations without adequate notice are charged in full on the credit card used to secure the reservation and are non-refundable.
