Kualoa Ranch is a beautifully scenic property on Oahu's windward side. An impressive list of movies and TV shows have been filmed in this scenic area. The majestic cliffs and spires of the Kualoa Mountains, the lush greenery of the Ka'a'awa Valley, the ancient fishponds on the south side of the property, the quintessential view of Chinaman's Hat (Mokolo'i Island) provide a scenic backdrop for a day of fun and adventure. Kualoa Ranch is not just a working cattle ranch; it is an "activity club" offering a fun-filled day during your vacation.

All full and half day packages include a buffet lunch at the Kualoa Ranch visitor's center, and round trip transportation for Waikiki guests is available on these packages for $10 per participant. For those being picked up in Waikiki, the pickup times range from 7am to 8am depending on your hotel. Those driving to the ranch for checkin should be there no later than 8:30am. Half day packages return to Waikiki around 2:30pm and full day packages would return around 4:30pm. There are two types of packages available ... the Hawaiian Experience package and the Adventure package.

HAWAIIAN EXPERIENCE PACKAGES: a variety of fully narrated tours that are suitable for guests of all ages.

Movie Site and Ranch Tour: This is the most popular narrated tour ... guests are transported to the gorgeous 1,000 acre Ka'a'awa Valley to experience where many of Hollywood's biggest block buster moviews and television shows were filmed. Check out the Jurassic Park site, find Godzilla's footprints, see the famous battlefield from the movie Windtalkers, listen as your guide tells you about Pearl Harbor, 50 First Dates, George of the Jungle, You Me and Dupree, and who can forget LOST???

Jungle Expedition: Board your 6-wheel drive Pinzgauer and get ready for this back-country narrated tour. Your guide will tackle some rough terrain as you maneuver through isolated stream beds, and up a hill where you will disembark for a brief walk/hike to a viewpoint where you will be rewarded with one of the most dramatic views of the windward coastline. This is fast becoming the most popular narrated tour.

Hawaiian Fishpond and Garden Tour: This tour explores different facets of agriculture in Hawaii and this rich historic land by going through fields of tropical flowers, fruit trees, and gardens before venturing out on to Molii Fishpond. This 800 year old 125 acre Hawaiian fishpond is one of the largest and best preserved ancient fishpond in Hawaii.

Ocean Voyaging: The Hawaiian Islands are the most geographically isolated in the world. Using only the stars, the ancient Hawaiians traveled to and populated these islands about 1000 years ago. Ride a 49 passenger catamarn into the beautiful Kaneohe Bay and past famous Mokoli'i Island (Chinaman's Hat) and Hokulea Beach, the ceremonial home of the first modern replica of an ancient sailing canoe. Ocean Voyaging tour is not available on Sundays and Federal Holidays.

Ancient Hula Lesson: Hula is one of the defining cultural practices in Hawaii. Hula combines grace, spirituality, and athleticism in a way that is uniquely Hawaiian. In this new activity at Kualoa Ranch, guests learn this ancient art in a beautiful tropical setting. After learning of the origins of Hula, guests will be taught an ancient dance handed down from the 1860's ... a fun-filled experience of Hawaiian culture.

Legends and Legacy Tour: The lands of Kualoa are historically some of the most sacred on the island of Oahu. There are numerous references to Kualoa in legends and historical accounts as to the importance of this beautiful land. This new tour journeys through the foothills to the base of the majestic Kualoa cliffs while the guides tell of the legends and stories of the area. This fascinating tour with its historic and factual emphasis compliments the video that is shown at the visitor's center.

ADVENTURE PACKAGES: include all the tour options of the Hawaiian Experience, plus Horseback Riding and ATV Tour as additional options! Signed waiver of liability required for all adventure tours and activities.

Horseback Riding Tour: Enjoy magnificent vistas as you ride across our 4,000 acre cattle ranch! See where famous movies were made, and ride on wooded trails to a scenic overlook about an 800 year old Hawaiian fishpond. Closed toed shoes like sneakers are required; long pants recommended. Minimum age 10, minimum height 4'6", maximum weight 230 pounds.

ATV Tour: See Kualoa Ranch up close and personal! Drive your own ATV on trails deep into the scenic valleys and to remote areas seldom visited by others. ATV's go out rain or shine ... digging through the dirt and crossing seasonal streams are part of the fun! Drive over the saddle trail and into Ka'a'awa Valley past famous movie filming sites. Closed toed shoes like sneakers are required; long pants recommended. Minimum age 16.

ACTIVITY TIPS

The best deal is to do one of their FULL DAY ADVENTURE PACKAGES. This basically gives you the "run of the ranch" for the day and the ability to participate in anything and everything that can be squeezed into one eventful day. The complete list of activities is found above; the most popular events are the horseback riding, ATV tour, and movie tour. With the full day adventure package you can do all three of those, along with one other event, and a nice buffet lunch is included too. Round-trip transportation from Waikiki hotels is available with this package.

The HALF DAY ADVENTURE PACKAGE includes two activities at the Ranch ...one from the Adventure category and one from the Hawaiian Experience category. Please note that if you want to do BOTH horseback riding and ATV tour, you will need to do the FULL DAY PACKAGE.

ADVENTURE packages have age and weight restrictions for some of the tours and require a signed waiver of liability from all participants. For families with younger children, you will want to sign up for one of the HAWAIIAN EXPERIENCE packages as all of these activities are suitable for participants of all ages. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult on all activities though.

While it's a good idea to have in mind the top two or three events that you'd like to do with your package, the selection of the exact tours that you will do is made upon arrival at the ranch. If you are reserved in advance for a package, adequate space is allotted for you to select the specific events you would like on the morning of your tour.

All of the narrated tours and adventure activities with these packages are approximately one hour in length. A two hour horseback ride and a two hour ATV tour are also offered as stand-alone events. Oahu -Kualoa Ranch Reservations

Upon submitting your activity reservation for processing, one copy is sent to your e-mail address so that you have a record of your order. We will make reservations for you and send an e-mail confirming all of the details. These confirmations are often sent a few minutes after your reservation, but some activities take longer to confirm than others. You will receive an e-mail confirmation by the end of the next business day at the latest. There are no tickets that you need to pick up prior to your event. Your e-mail confirmation will have all the details you need to check in and enjoy your selected activity. This saves you precious time when you arrive in Hawaii. 

A credit card is required to guarantee payment for your reservations, but in most cases WE DO NOT charge your credit card when your order is placed. Your credit card is typically charged five days before you leave for Hawaii, and a voucher is faxed to the vendor. Some activities are charged at the time of check-in and your e-mail confirmation will inform you if this is the case. If you cancel your activity after your credit card has been charged you will receive a refund less 10% to cover our credit card processing costs.

We do have one vendor that requires payment at the time that your reservation is made. These activities are clearly marked on our website with the words, "Payment required at the time of reservation."

After making reservations, you may reschedule or cancel your activity up until 48 hours prior to its start (a few activities have 72 hour cancellation policies ... see your confirmation e-mail for details). Within 48 hours of the start of your activity all reservations are final and non-refundable (unless the event is cancelled by the vendor due to weather or other factors). Due to our incredible climate here, weather cancellations are rare.  No-shows and cancellations without adequate notice are charged in full on the credit card used to secure the reservation and are non-refundable.
