Parasail in paradise
with UFO PARASAILING … it’s
a fun, easy activity that almost everyone can enjoy. Absolutely no experience
is necessary and there is nothing to learn … you just sit back and enjoy
the ride. You begin your flight seated on the back deck of the boat …
your harness is attached to the parasail, and as the boat begins to
accelerate, you feel the vessel sliding out from underneath of you and
WHOOOSH … off you go! Your ride lasts about 10 minutes with the 800 foot
line, and 7 minutes for the 400 foot line. At the end of the ride the crew reels you in like a
fish, and you land like a feather standing up on the back deck of the
boat. The total length of time you are out on the boat is about an
hour or a little less.
Minimum
age to parasail is 5. Minimum age as an observer is 3.
No
pregnant women and no one with a history of neck or back injuries
may board the boat.

UFO
PARASAILING offers daily "abductions" from the
pier downtown in Kailua-Kona all year round. |

CRUISE SHIP
PASSENGERS |
Parasailing is available for cruise ship
passengers in Kona, and the check-in is just across the street from the cruise
ship dock! Check-in is 45 minutes prior to your flight time, and allow ample
time to get to shore when making your reservation. Kona is a tendering situation
and it may take an hour or so after your scheduled arrival for you to make it to
shore.
Activity Tips
What an amazing sensation! Imagine yourself sitting on the
back deck of a boat. You are wearing a harness ... behind you a parasail
is already inflated. The staff clips you onto the line, and you hear the
boat's engines power up. You feel the boat sliding out from underneath
you ... and moments later the boat has disappeared and you are hovering
over the water just a few feet from the surface. Out goes the line ... and
away you go ... a giant kite against the horizon!
Parasailing has evolved into a highly safe art form. The
take-off and landing both happen on the boat. When your ride concludes,
they reel you in like a fish. You land gently on the back deck of the boat
where your adventure began.
Certain weight limits apply. Two people may fly in tandem as long as their
combined weights do not exceed 350 lbs. In order to fly single, you have
to weigh at least 130 lbs. ... these weights are guidelines and can change
subject to wind conditions.
Each boat holds 6 people, so larger groups will have to
split between two or three boats. One non-flying observer is allowed per
boat at a cost of $30 dollars (including tax). Please note
that if you are booking for the early bird timeslot with the
discounted rates, NO observers are allowed.

UFO Kona Reservations
Upon submitting your activity
reservation for processing, one copy is sent to your e-mail address so that you
have a record of your order. We will make reservations for you and send an
e-mail confirming all of the details. These confirmations are often sent a few
minutes after your reservation, but some activities take longer to confirm than
others. You will receive an e-mail confirmation by the end of the next business
day at the latest. There are no tickets that you need to pick up prior to your
event. Your e-mail confirmation will have all the details you need to check in
and enjoy your selected activity. This saves you precious time when you arrive
in Hawaii.
A credit card is required to
guarantee payment for your reservations, but in most cases WE DO NOT charge your credit card
when your order is placed. Your credit card is typically charged five days
before you leave for Hawaii, and a voucher is faxed to the vendor. Some
activities are charged at the time of check-in and your e-mail confirmation will
inform you if this is the case. If you cancel your activity after your credit
card has been charged you will receive a refund less 10% to cover our credit
card processing costs.
We do have one vendor that
requires payment at the time that your reservation is made. These activities are
clearly marked on our website with the words, "Payment required at the time
of reservation."
After making reservations, you
may reschedule or cancel your activity up until 48 hours prior to its start (a few activities have 72 hour cancellation policies ... see
your confirmation e-mail for details). Within 48 hours of the start of your
activity all reservations are final and non-refundable (unless the event is
cancelled by the vendor due to weather or other factors). Due to our incredible
climate here, weather cancellations are rare. No-shows and cancellations
without adequate notice are charged in full on the credit card used to secure
the reservation and are non-refundable.
