Following dinner take a journey from Tahiti, New Zealand, Hawai`i, and Sāmoa through the songs and dances of these Pacific cultures. The spellbinding Samoan fire knife dance is a spectacular sight to see! If you are staying in downtown Kona this luau is well worth the drive to Waikoloa! Don't miss it!

Kevin's Activity Tips:

Which luau to attend on the Big Island? Right now the answer is "Whichever one you you are able to find a table at when you are booking three weeks or more in advance." The Waikoloa Marriott luau has high quality food and they have all the essential luau basics; their kalua pig and Molokai sweet potatoes are especially tasty. (by the way, Molokai sweet potatoes have an incredibly deep dark purple color). The tropical setting here is really beautiful and makes this a perfect place to hold a luau. It is a small grassy lawn between the resort and the beach which is lined with a scenic row of coconut palm trees. Be sure to stroll down by the ancient fishponds … at sunset on a calm evening you can get an incredible picture of these palm trees reflecting onto the water of the fishponds. This luau is only held twice a week, and advanced reservations are necessary. My wife and I not only love this luau, the Waikoloa Marriott is our favorite place to stay whenever we visit the Big Island!
